As I continue to review films I keep running into the same directors and I have come to admire them and dedicate seasons to them. I know that I will continue to watch films from them. Therefore it might be sensible to keep track of my reviews by prominent directors. I am big on auteur theory and whenever I find a film I like I always want to know what else a director has done. Thus, expect this page to showcase the oeuvre of the likes of Shinya Tsukamoto, Kim Ji-Won, Kiyoshi Kurosawa, Sion Sono and others.
I know that the name order varies – I will use the Korean way of laying out a name for Korean directors while I will use the western way of laying out a name for Japanese directors but this is how I speak about filmmakers in real life.
There are big spaces in some places and the pictures are all weird shapes and sizes but that is because I have yet to review a lot of films and when I do, the pictures will alter. I will keep updating this page much like my film review archive so check back from time to time if you want to see what I thought about a particular title.
