Red Post on Escher Street, Otto to chotto hanarete shima kurashi, Tomose Japanese Film Trailers – Merry Christmas Edition

Merry Christmas

The Night is Short Walk On Girl Drinks

I hope you are festive and well.

It’s my first proper Christmas with my family but I am taking time out to organise things and quickly do this trailer post. As I write this, I am waiting to hand out/receive presents and eat Christmas food. So far, I got some Japanese whiskey from Akashi, a small city I visited a couple of years ago.

In terms of films and TV, I finished watching Wolf’s Rain and I am about to start Vinland Saga and I plan on watching nine Japanese films hosted by Cinematheque Francaise – all free and with English subs! I posted one trailer post yesterday. I’ll try and do a Top Ten Films for the end of the year.

What else was released on this Christmas weekend?

  1. Merry Christmas to you. Thank you for taking the time to post those news.

There is the last movie of Ôbayashi Nobuhiko on Amazon Prime Japan, but it lasts 3 hours… I can’t watch it now… Maybe during my few days off, in one week…

PS : Japanese whiskeys are great!

    1. Merry Christmas!

I’ll be watching Japanese films while drinking some Hatozaki tonight. Funnily enough, I stopped by the town its brewed in on a whim a couple of times. Nice castle ruins and park.

You’re talking about Labyrinth of Cinema, right? I had to watch that in two parts but found the final result emotionally satisfying. I was recently thinking about some sections like the ones set in Okinawa and wondering if a contemporary filmmaker would dare to address the subject.

I hope you have a relaxing holiday period.

      Take care!
