Shiwase no Pan, The Wings of the Kirin, With the Dog Tag and the Croquette, The Tempest 3D, Berserk: Golden Age I – The Egg of the Supreme King Trailers

Four Japanese films released today so here are the trailers plus one a week early because this week’s releases left me feeling flat.

The Wings of the Kirin

Release Date: 28th January 2012 (Japan)

Running Time: N/A

Director: Nobuhiro Doi

Writer: Keigo Higashino (original novel), Takeharu Sakurai (script)

Starring: Hiroshi Abe, Yui Aragaki, Meisa Kuroki, Rena Tanaka, Junpei Mizobata, Tsutomo Yamazaki

Hiroshi Abe who stars in a lot of stuff I like, Yui Aragaki who is in the recent Ranma½ live-action television series, Tsutomo Yamazaki from the classy drama Departures and Meisa Kuroki who starred in One Missed Call: Final are the names I recognise. I can wath Hiroshi Abe in almost everything but this trailer underwhelmed me.

Detective Kaga (Hiroshi Abe) is investigating the link between a man named Takeaki Aoyagi (Kiihi Nakai) found dead with a knife wound beneath a statue on Nihonbashi Bridge and a suspect who was run-down in a car accident while trying to escape and is now in a coma. Things get even more interesting when Yajima’s girlfriend Kaori (Yui Aragaki) travels to Tokyo to plead his innocence. He soon discovers that the link between the two runs deeper and further than initially thought.

With the Dog Tag and the Croquette

Seiki (Kenta Kamakari) had an “interesting” childhood in Osaka: his Korean father fed him croquette and kimchi everyday, and he constantly thought and robbed before going to youth detention centre. His only constants are his friends, Tasuya (Jun Ikeda), Toshi (Yuya Miyashita) and Toshi (Masaya Nakamura). Then he meets office lady Michiko (Chisun) and decides to change his ways. In order to do that he decides to become a stand-up comedian.

I immediately thought Shakespeare play when I saw the title but the synopsis reads more like Twelfth Night what with its cross-dressing young women gaining public office.

A new Berserk trailer was released earlier this week because the film will go on general release aross Japan next Saturday. Here it is!
