Well, the second half of the Moffat two parter and I can say that it was one of the best episodes going for the new Doctor Who (I know this is only episode 5).
The Weeping Angels made a welcome return and provided the horror I had expected (and hoped) that Moffat would bring. Again, this was another action packed episode and there were a plethora of great ideas, twists and character moments that prove that Doctor Who is one of the best things on television.
There were a few moments where the concept was much better than the execution (Amy having to walk amongst the angels) but that is only to be expected with limited running time and a limited budget. I still enjoyed it a lot more than some of the spoilt nerds on the SFX forums seemed to. Ignore them.
Were the angels over-explosed and over-exploited in these episodes? Yes, but then so was the Xenomorph from Aliens so, hey ho, the angels are in good company. Now if they can avoid Jean-Pierre Jeunet, David Fincher and Joss Whedon they won’t totally fall off the edge of the classy monster cliff. Speaking of monsters, I am anticipating the next episode – Vampires (or something close to them) in Venice.
Thanks must go out to the BBC and the team behind Doctor Who for the episode and the images used in this post and the last one. Keep up the good work!
